Does the algorithm trouble you? You’re busy posting, taking care of the photos, watching out for the time, doing everything right in your opinion, and still, are not you really making headway? Half of the blogger world is currently complaining about these problems and I definitely had my lowest points in the last few months. In the meantime, however, I am doing very well in terms of growth and engagement, and I’ll tell you today how I did it (or why I think that’s the case ).
The basic mistake of most users, if you ask me, is that they post the same content as they did 3 years ago. When I started blogging in 2015, every selfie went through the roof and it was not uncommon that 50% of the whole feed was just that. Flatlays from my coffee at Starbucks and outfit posts against a white wall were the non-plus ultra.
Well. 3,5 years have passed and there were many influencers who were willing to invest more time and work in a photo. At the moment it is almost “normal” to put his bed in the forest and drive 300 kilometers to a single location. The quality and the effort behind the photos is getting higher and higher. Of course that also means that ours Spectators are demanding .
The “normal” outfit picture in front of a nice old building somewhere in Munich has already been seen 10,000 times. Many, who used to watch only the influencers, are now regularly posting photos themselves, hoping to build something up on the platform. To stand out from the crowd, you just have to offer more than a few months ago and I fully understand that this can be quite frustrating for one or the other: /
If I had to do another job by the way, I would not have time to set up scenes in the forest several times a week or fly to Mallorca for a few photos. This is fatal for those who make a lot of effort and then unfortunately go down in the crowd.
My tip: Take one day at the weekend and produce as many photos as possible in one day. Plan everything carefully, use your time efficiently, and seek out friends who join the madness with you. Otherwise you are lost
With nearly half of humanity on Instagram right now, the flood of photos and videos is getting bigger and bigger and we have to work harder and harder to keep up. Of course you can find that bad now and get upset that everything has become so far from reality.
I see that a little bit differently. As I’ve already told you on Instagram, it’s incredibly fun to spend so much time on a picture.
I love picking ideas on Pinterest, planning a shoot day, buying props, and getting the most out of Photoshop. If you do not like this change, you may have to put up with drowning in the app or being filtered out by the algorithm.
Content is King – we all know that. Of course, having a successful Instagram strategy is more than just beautiful photos, but I think that’s the basis of success
Let me know what you think about it and if I should tell you in another post exactly how a picture is taken with me.
